Election Connection
This page represents one of the first steps in a long term project, tentatively titled the "Federal Elections Project" conducted by myself, David Lublin, at American University and D. Stephen Voss at the University of Kentucky. We hope to collect precinct election data from the 2000 presidential, congressional, and gubernatorial elections and make it accessible over the net. We further intend to match it with data with information from the 2000 U.S. Census.
The links on this page are generally directed toward internet sources of election and demographic data. The quality of the data ranges widely -- some places have only totals, while others have results broken down by county or precinct. If you know of additional sites for American election data, or district maps or reapportionment offices, that I have not linked here, please email me at dlublin@american.edu.

The CIA World Fact Book describes American Samoa as a "territory of the United States." Factoid: Pago Pago, prounced "Pango Pango" is spelled without an "n" because the people who had the first printing press did not have one and spelled Pago Pago, and many other words, without it.
Guam
Guam Election Commission reports on elections from "Where America's day begins." Perhaps unusually, the Guam Election Code allows all voters to take two hours off from work without penalty or salary deduction to go vote. Now that's the way to increase turnout.
