EagleData is a web-accessible source for university statistics and reports that is available to authorized users inside the AU community. The information presented in EagleData is extracted nightly from the university's operational data in the Colleague and Benefactor systems. Data are then placed in an Oracle-based data warehouse for storage and reporting.

EagleData was created to provide fast and easy access to information in a self-service manner, so users can get reports when they need them. To standardize statistical reporting across campus, EagleData incorporates counting rules established by The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment.

Please be reminded that data are critical assets of the university. All members of the university community have a responsibility to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data generated, accessed, modified, transmitted, stored, or used by the university, irrespective of the medium on which the data reside and regardless of format (such as in electronic, paper, or other physical form).

The OIT Help desk administers all access and the assignment of permissions for EagleData. If you need to request access, please send an e-mail to helpdesk@american.edu including your full name, AU status (faculty, staff, or student), your Supervisor's name and contact information, and a detailed description of the reports that you will need to access. Upon receipt of your request, the Help Desk will obtain approval from the departmental data custodians who are responsible for the requested reports. For example, the Office of Registrar data custodian must approve access to the Enrollment data.

Requests for minor changes and enhancements to existing views should be sent to helpdesk@american.edu. Requests for new reports must be prioritized as part of the Campus technology project list and should be forwarded to your Division representative who will prioritize all project requests and submit them to the Office of Information Technology. Academic users may find it useful to discuss reporting needs with the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment.
