My name is Bruce Gaston and I am a second year student in the MAT program in Elementary Education at American University in Washington, D.C.  I also work as a teaching aide for Mrs. Gaudette's 5th grade class at Hyde Elementary, a District of Columbia Public School.

I created this web page as the students are learning about the Chesapeake Bay.  I thought that this would be a useful resource for the class, and others as well, to learn more about the Bay ecosystem.  I hope that the pictures and information about the Bay and its wildlife will make learning about this environmental treasure, and the many things that harm it, of interest to you.  I also  included photographs of the class field trip on the Potomac River, as well as some of the artwork created by some of the students about the Bay as a means for personalizing the learning taking place in Mrs. Gaudette's classroom.
