Alligators!

Here you will find lots of useful information
about alligators in North America!
Gator Tidbits:
The 'Alligator mississippiensis', or American alligator, lives in the coastal plains of the southeastern United States, in the swamps, marshes, lakes and rivers.  It feeds on fish, turtles, birds and small mammals.  Alligators rarely attack humans. When this occurs, it is usually in defense of a nest or because public feeding has caused them to lose their fear of people. Alligators lay eggs in order to reproduce.  They can have a nest of about 40 eggs at a time, and these will hatch in 60-100 days. Hatchling alligators are about 8-10 inches long.
