MERIT AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

Many students pursue merit awards and scholarships in conjunction with their degree. American University has been successful at both the undergraduate and graduate level in receiving many prestigious awards. Students have received Fulbright Scholarships to study in Britain, Germany, Spain, France, Ireland and Austria, Boren Fellowships to study in Poland, Georgia and Russia, and Bosch and Adenauer Fellowships to study in Germany, and Rotary and Marshall Fellowships to study in Britain. Other grants available include the Rhodes, Mitchell, DAAD, and Teaching Grants to a host of European countries. These competitive awards require time and preparation and in many cases a university nomination. Interested students should consult the Office of Merit Awards at the AU Career Center.
