A chemical spill/emergency is defined as a release of hazardous chemicals that could threaten human health or the environment.

ACTIONS TO FOLLOW: Upon discovery of a chemical spill

Do Not Attempt to Clean Up a Spill Yourself!

1. Evacuate room or area.

2. Close and secure the room or area if possible.

3. Contact University Police at x3636.

Give the dispatcher the following information:

a. Building name and location

b. Floor and room number

c. Any details regarding type of spill

d. Injuries, if any
