Alumni Mentoring Program

What is the Alumni Mentoring Program?
One of the best ways Honors alumni can contribute to the University Honors Program is by devoting some time to mentor a current Honors student.  Alumni interest and input are invaluable to our students. Alumni mentors report their experience is personally rewarding, too.

Mentoring arrangements are flexible and created to suit both the alumni mentor and student. With Honors students eager to connect with Honors alums, we hope you will consider becoming a mentor.

Alumni Mentoring Program Mission Statement

"The AU Honors Alumni Mentoring Program aims to engage Honors alumni and students through meaningful interaction and useful dialogue. By sharing life lessons and experiences from the workforce, alumni can help ease students’ transitions to post-undergraduate life. Ideally alumni will reconnect with their undergraduate experience and students will be prepared for the challenges that await them after graduation.
Paired alumni and students are encouraged to develop their relationship at their own pace, using the means of communication the pair deems most convenient. These relationships would be based on interactions that could be on a one-time, semi-regular or longer basis. The University Honors Program believes in life-long learning and encourages alumni and students to remain active participants in a community of scholars. Through this mentoring program, Honors strives to create a fulfilling experience for both volunteering mentors and students."
