Maureen McTeer

Maureen McTeer, a lawyer and expert in law, science and public policy has been named Distinguished Scholar-in-Residence in the School of Public Affairs and the Washington College of Law, and a Senior Fellow in the Center for North American Studies, effective September 1, 2004 . She is the author of four best selling books, including Tough Choices: Living & Dying in the 21st Century. She is an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Common Law at the University of Ottawa and will contribute to developing ties between the two law schools. She has just completed a year as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Sheffield in England , where she also received a Masters in Biotechnological Law and Ethics. During the Spring, 2005 term, Ms. McTeer will teach a course on law, genetics and public policy at Washington College of Law, and courses on genetics, reproduction and equality in the Women and Politics Institute, directed by Dr. Karen O’Connor.
