Nicole Modeen Hark
Logistics Specialist, Center for Democracy and Election Management

Nicole is the Logistics Specialist for CDEM, providing support and coordination for grant programs and training institutes in D.C. and abroad. Nicole joined CDEM in 2008 from the University of South Carolina (USC) in Columbia, SC. She specialized in regional studies of North Africa and the Middle East and has proficient French, intermediate Modern Standard Arabic, and conversational German language skills. During her undergraduate career, Nicole served as a Brent Scowcroft Fellow at the Aspen Institute in Washington, D.C. and as an intern for the U.S. Consulate in Marseille, France. The recipient of a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship, Nicole spent a semester abroad in 2007 studying Arabic at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. Prior to arriving at American University, Nicole worked for the Al Jazeera-English news station in Washington, D.C. She is currently working toward a M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution at American University's School of International Service, concurrent with her work at CDEM.
