David L. Dill

David L. Dill is a Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University with a primary research focus on the theory and application of formal verification techniques to system designs. In 2003, he turned a critical eye to electronic voting systems, founding the nonprofit advocacy group VerifiedVoting.org to champion transparent and publicly verifiable elections. In April 2004, he received the Pioneer Award from the Electronic Frontier Foundation for spearheading and nurturing a movement to maintain integrity in elections. Professor Dill has been widely interviewed and quoted on issues related to voting equipment and voter-verifiable paper audit trails.
