E-GOVERNMENT

There is no information on any internal e-government or procurement systems emerging. Also one cannot obtain a driver's license on the Internet.

Currently, there are some e-government websites . One notable one is http://www.kenya.go.ke/, this site provides information such as the different ministries, office of the president, national assembly,  electoral commission,  and office of the attorney general. Kenya is actually in the first stage in the development of e-government. The next step would be having forms and applications so that people can download.

There are many constraints that Kenya faces in trying to establish an electronic governance. These constraints include:

· Lack of commitment by the top leadership during the process of implementing an e-governance application.

· The cost of hardware and software is usually adequate.

· The basic telecommunication infrastructure is poor.

· The ability within the Government structure to successfully absorb technology is an important factor.
