About the Author of Information Technology Landscape in Canada
OverviewHoward Healy is a second year full-time graduate student at The American University's Kogod School of Business. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree with a dual concentration in Finance and Management of Global Information Technology (MoGIT). He will be graduating from this program in December 2002 and is currently working part-time as a Financial Analyst at a local Real Estate Development firm. Howard completed his Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 at University of Baltimore, located in his home town of Baltimore, Maryland thus, pursued a career in public accounting. International Exposure There have been many opportunities for him to explore various cultures because he has had several years of experience in foreign tax issues and treaties. Howard worked several years as a Consultant in the areas of International Tax and Tax Technology Consulting. He was granted an opportunity to travel 100% of the time throughout the United States. Though he was a road warrior, he has never had the opportunity to travel outside of the United States and would welcome the opportunity. Canada was selected because of its close proximity to the United States in location, size, culture, language, economics and logistics. It is our neighbor to the north rich with cultural diversity and a world of knowledge. The Information Technology Landscape in Canada gave Howard the opportunity to explore many diverse issues in foreign policy as it pertains to information technology. Through this project he has gained a thorough understanding of Canadian culture and has managed to develop a virtual experience of living and working in Canada.
