Welcome to the
Information Technology Landscape of
Nigeria

In 1999, Nigeria
transformed from military rule to a democratic civilian government. The new
administration is focusing on rebuilding the country, placing particular
emphasis on the economy and information technology. The Obasanjo administration
recognizes that the investment in and the employment of technology will aide in
the improvement of the country’s infrastructure and the quality of life for
many Nigerians. The following pages will explore the information technology
landscape of Nigeria,
Nigeria’s hope
for the future.
