Ministry of Information Technology (Formerly DoE), Govt. of India while framing the policies to boost Software sectors with distinct focus at software exports nation wide identified Bhubaneswar to be one of the spot to set up Software Technology Parks of India.

Bhubaneswar the city known for its monuments and rock edicts of Emperor Ashoka is host to the center of Software Technology Parks of India since 1992. Since then STPI is engaged in promoting the Software Exports from the region and achieved major miles stone in the IT sector for the state. Presently STPI Bhubaneswar an unique organization, which offers entire spectrum of services to promote and facilitate the Software Export Industries in the state and provides the services through the State-of-the-art infrastructure.

Located at Chandaka within Bhubaneswar City Limits, just 15 kms from Airport .

Investment
Rs. 25 Crores.
  • Funding Pattern : Rs. 10 Crores grant by Govt. of India.
  • Rs. 5.25 crore term loan by Govt. of Orissa.
  • Rs. 10.25 crores by IDCO share.

Proposed STPI facilities
  • Five acres of land has been earmarked in the middle of the Infocity at high altitude to setup STPI facilities.
  • STPI has proposed to setup repeater station & Network Operation center (NOC) to provide Data Communication facilities inside the Infocity.
   
IT park setup by M/s.Infosys Technologies Ltd.
  • M/s. Infosys Technologies Ltd. Bhubaneswar has acquired 25 acres of land inside the Infocity to construct its own off shore Software Development Center.
  • The center to be named as INFOSYS KONARK is the biggest IT Park in the eastern region.
  • The center has capacity to house 2200 professionals.
  • An export of Rs. 1079 crore have been projected by the unit.
  • The total project cost of the park is of Rs. 105.60 crore .
  • The first phase of the development center to be ready by month of December of this year.
