Rules and Course Agreement
1. The instructor reserves the right to dismiss from class any student whose behavior is disruptive. The dismissed student will earn an absence for that day.
2. All electronic devices, such as telephones, pagers and personal stereos, must be turned off during class time.
3. Leaving early and/or arriving late to class constitutes an absence.
4. According to university policy, eating and drinking in classrooms is prohibited.
5. Work missed in class cannot be made up.
6. If a student is not prepared for a formal paper or portfolio workshop day, the paper's or portfolio's final grade may be affected.
7. Each formal paper may be revised one time.
8. One formal paper may be revised one additional time for inclusion in student's portfolio.
9. Late formal papers earn one full grade deduction.
10. Late formal papers may not be revised.
11. If any formal paper is not turned in, student will not receive a passing grade for the course.
12. It is the student's responsibility to keep abreast of all changes in the master and segment schedules.
13. Student is aware of the grading standards as stated in the "Grading Criteria" handout.
14. Student agrees to the attendance policy as delineated in the course syllabus.
15. Student agrees to honor the University Academic Integrity Code.
16. Student agrees to the Department of Literature's statement on plagiarism.
17. Student has read and agrees to all the provisions set forth in the "Course Syllabus."
18. All papers submitted to instructor or for workshops must typed and formatted according to template.
19. Spelling and grammar count.
20. These "rules" may be appended or edited as the semester progresses. Students will always have a voice in any changes that occur during this time.
