Renée von Wörde, PhD![]() Visiting Assistant Professor of German Professor von Wörde was born in Berlin, Germany. She earned the PhD in Education from George Mason University after completing a Doctoral Internship at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. Her early research focused on Foreign Language Anxiety. She has done postdoctoral work at the University of Rostock, Germany; Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany; and at Klagenfurt University, Austria. Her current research interests include German dialectology, medieval German literature, and military history and translation. Dr. von Wörde was awarded The Herman and Johanna Richter Schoenfeld Prize for excellence in historical and cultural phases of German Studies.
