AnewAU Message Travels to Florida

President Ladner visited Palm Beach and Miami, Florida, in early March, energizing alumni with his presentation about how campus has changed in the past few years and how AU continues to grow and prosper.

“I probably would not recognize the campus if I saw it after so much time. The event was great; I had such a nice time,” said Andy Leavy, KSB/BSBA '88.

On March 2, Dr. Ladner visited with alumni and friends at the Miami City Club. WSVN-TV Fox 7 Anchor Craig Stevens, SOC/BA '90, introduced Dr. Ladner.

“It was wonderful to be able to share with the group how American has affected my life,” said Stevens.

Palm Beach welcomed Dr. Ladner on March 3 at the Ritz-Carlton in Manalapan.

Dr. Cyrus and Myrtle Katzen and VP Al CheccioDr. Cyrus and Myrtle Katzen, benefactors of the almost-complete Katzen Arts Center, attended both events, as did Jack Rasmussen, CAS/MFA ’75, CAS/MA ’83, CAS/PHD '94, director and curator of the arts center.

As a result of the events, more than a dozen alumni offered to help plan and promote future events in the south Florida area, including a mid-May volunteer meeting.
