Dear AU Alum-
There is no question that the last few
months have been tough. We've heard from
many alums, and want you to know that your
voices do matter. In recent weeks, the
Alumni Board has met with Gary Abramson,
the new chair of the Board of Trustees, to
express some of the concerns and opinions
of our fellow alumni, particularly on the
subject of board governance. I am communicating with others
on the Board of Trustees as they begin to
form governance and other committees to
ensure that there is representation from
alumni in those groups. We are also
working to get a permanent, voting
representative from the Alumni Board on
the Board of Trustees, and we look forward to working with the rest of
the university community as we focus on
governance issues going forward.
For the latest information regarding
issues of Board governance, campus
statements, and to express your thoughts
about AU's future, please visit the new
Governance Web site. There you
will find links and contact information
for the Board of Trustees and other
university groups. For a listing of your
alumni board members or to contact any of
us, please visit (link to alumni page
listing board members).
As always, thanks for your involvement and
support as we continue to move forward.
Best,
Carey Earle, SOC/BA '88
