| Fiscal Year Ends on Positive Note, Campaign Continues to Thrive
American University is wrapping up another successful fiscal year having raised more than $20 million in annual fund donations. With alumni participation at 18 percent, the university is confident and energized as it enters its third year of the AnewAU campaign. The campaign has raised nearly $120 million toward its $200 million goal. "We are so grateful for all the alumni who have helped us reach our goals for this year. Looking forward to the 2006-2007 academic and fiscal years, we hope the alumni programs, communications, and other services we provide, as well as the ongoing achievements of AU's faculty, staff, and students, inspire continued engagement, confidence, loyalty, and financial support," said Abbey Silberman, director of development. Interim President Neil Kerwin, SPA/BA ’71, has been on the road in support of the campaign since last fall. His most recent stop was on April 19 in Boston, where he met with alumni and friends at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge. Alumni were excited at the opportunity to meet with Dr. Kerwin and moved by his vision for AU. "Having been a classmate of Dr. Kerwin's, I know no one knows AU inside and out the way he does. I have great respect for him and am excited to see the plans for the university," said Stan Godoff, SPA/BA '71.It’s never too late to contribute to AU or the AnewAU campaign, but this fiscal year ends on April 30.
