Weekend Schedule, Special Discount Packages Announced
Mark your calendar for October 20-22, 2006!
Plans
for the feature events of Alumni Weekend are being fleshed out more each
week as summer comes to a close. This year's celebration will keep many
of the traditional events that alumni have enjoyed year after year, but
will also premiere some new programs that promise to be memorable and
fun.
Friday,
Oct. 20
11 a.m. - The Golden Eagle Luncheon will bring
together alumni celebrating their 50th reunion in the Abramson Family
Recital Hall at the Katzen Arts Center. Members of the Class
of 1956 and prior years will enjoy a student performance and are invited
to go on a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Katzen Arts Center following
lunch.
6 p.m. - Special 25-year reunion party for the Class
of 1981 at the AU President's House.
Special 10-year reunion party for the Class
of 1996 at The Front Page.
8 p.m. - Alumni party and special 5-year reunion party
at Ireland's Four Fields (formerly the 4Ps).
Saturday,
Oct. 21
Seatings at 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. - AU Picnic
in the Woods-Brown Amphitheatre
Enjoy a delicious gourmet barbeque, live music, and games for the kids.
Alumni from featured reunion classes will have the opportunity to meet
up at specially designated areas.
7 p.m. - The Movers & Shakers All-Alumni
Cocktail Reception, featuring a host committee of past alumni
award winners. Gather at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center
downtown to mix 'n mingle with some of AU's Movers and Shakers like the
best of 'em! Enjoy hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, live music, a silent auction,
presentation of this year's alumni awards, and an optional Capitol
Steps comedy show down the hall in the amphitheatre. Registration
required.
For
the first time, Alumni Programs will be offering select reunion classes
a special discount ticket package, which will include tickets to their
class reunion party, the AU Picnic, and the "Movers and Shakers"
reception.
