Inaugural Legacy Reception to be Hosted During Family Weekend There are more than 100 alumni and faculty/staff families who have children currently enrolled at AU, and several hundred more who have grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or siblings currently attending the university. On Saturday, Oct. 21, AU will celebrate these special families for whom an American University education is a tradition. In the first celebration of its kind for AU, the "legacy" reception will honor alumni, faculty, and staff who have family members currently attending the university. “We want to recognize families who value their AU experience and who have children and family members at American University creating their own memories,” says Dr. Neil Kerwin, SPA/BA ’71, interim president, and father of a recent AU grad, Michael Kerwin, SOC/BA ’05. The reception will be held at the President’s House from 3 to 5 p.m., and Dr. Kerwin will be present to greet and address guests. If
