“Faculty on the Road” Lecture Series Launches in NY and LA

Months in the planning, AU Alumni Programs is proud to present its new "Faculty on the Road" series. Two SOC professors kick off the new series with style and substance.

Making Wildlife Films Without Being Eaten by Bears and Sharks

Join us for an enthralling and captivating lecture given on environmental and wildlife filmmaking by SOC Distinguished Film Producer in Residence, Chris Palmer. Come listen to this highly entertaining, master storyteller as he shares his experiences and secrets of how wildlife films are made, and the challenges one can be faced with while filming dangerous animals.  This environmental and wildlife film producer has done it all: swam with dolphins and whales, confronted sharks, come face-to-face with Kodiak bears, camped with wolf packs, and waded hip-deep through an Everglades swamp.

Business casual attire. $15 per person.

Bush constitutionally limited to two terms, and Vice President Dick Cheney making it clear he will not run, the 2008 presidential race for the White House is wide open for the first time since 1928.  The 2008 campaign has been under way since 2006 and in a few short months voters in dozens of states will decide who the nominees will be. Join us for an informative and lively conversation led by one of AU’s favorite professors, Leonard Steinhorn, about the upcoming campaign, the candidates, the issues, prospects, and strategies. We invite you to share your thoughts on the upcoming election. Ample time will be devoted to audience questions.
