Career Center Focuses on Job Resources for Alumni
Career development is an ongoing process and the Career Center remains an appropriate place to start, or restart, your career exploration. Get the support you've earned using any or all of the following valuable resources: inCircle Alumni Online Community – This customized, dynamic social networking site is just for AU students and alumni. Think of Facebook, MySpace and Friendster rolled into one unique site designed specifically for the needs of AU alumni. Locate old friends, peruse job listings, find fellow alums who work for your target companies, and much, much more. Register now. One-on-One Career Advising – Take advantage of up to three visits with the alumni career advisor at no charge. Advisor Anne Kirchgessner is available to work with alumni who have graduated more than one year ago. Those who recently graduated can schedule an appointment with an advisor specific to their school. Call 202-885-1804. AU CareerWeb for Job and Internship Listings – where employers post jobs and internships specifically for AU students and alumni. Upload your resume and more. First, create your profile. Alumni Listserv – Follow these simple directions in order to join the alumni listserv, where you can promote a job opportunity, locate old classmates, or brag about a recent promotion. Career Resource Library – If you're able to come back to campus, the resource library computers are open for accessing job listings, information on self-assessment, career change, etc. Special Events – Bookmark the Career Center Web site for information regarding events such as upcoming Networking Receptions, which are school specific and bring alumni, students, employers, and faculty together to share useful career-minded information. “Networking is very important in terms of career development and AU alums are very helpful in the process,” says Career Advisor Anne Kirchgessner.
