SIS Renovation Featured on Prominent Architectural Web Site
As reported in the December issue of Alumni Update, the School of International Service broke ground in late November for its innovative, new building, featuring many of the latest "green" technologies available. While hundreds of alumni and community members were on hand to join in the celebration, listenening to architect William McDonough's in depth explanation of the building's design and reasoning for materials chosen, many were not able to join us. Now, by visiting the AIA Web site, alumni and friends are able to get the next best thing - a detailed look into what is going into SIS's new quarters. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is, according to its mission statement, "the voice of the architectural profession and the resource for its members in service to society."
SIS is the largest school of international affairs in the United States with more than 2,500 students from 150 countries. Through the AnewAU campaign, SIS has set a goal of $25 million for the SIS building and financial support for students and academic programs. Visit the AnewAU Web site to see how you can be a part of a better SIS!
