Spring 2009 Workshops
Leadership Connections is brought to you by Student Activities and is an educational tool that can provide you with the knowledge and resources you need to make your organization a success.
Student leaders are required to attend mandatory Leadership Connections workshops as indicated below with the * symbol. Failure to attend the workshops as required will limit the privileges of your student organization.
Each individual student attending the workshop MUST pre-register for each workshop at the link below.
The Spring 2009 semester workshops
are offered at the times and dates below:
*Student Activities 101: required for the President of the organization and any other officer that needs to have signature authority for Space Reservation Request forms.

Financial 102: An option for RETURNING student leaders who have previously attended a Financial Training session is Advanced Financial Training. This is a refresher course only for those who have attended Student Activities Financial Training workshop within the past year.

New Orgnaization Recognition Workshop: If you are forming a new club, a representative from your club MUST attend one of the required club information sessions. Clubs who do not attend a recognition information session will not be eligible for recognition until the following semester. You will learn about Student Activities policies, the registration process for organizations and the budget process.

Event Planning: For Student Activities-recognized clubs and organizations, this is essentially Student Activities 102. If you have attended SA 101 in the past year, you are eligible to take this workshop as your refresher. For others who may be interested, this workshop will give you an overview of working with UES and reserving spaces on campus, common University policies and procedures, working with Media Relations to identify newsworthy events, hosting foreign leaders/dignitaries, and other topics relevant to event planning at AU. Co-Presented with Student Activities by Lisa Arakaki from University Events and Jon Hussey from Media Relations.

Balancing Academics and Student Leader Responsibilities:
This workshop will cover time management strategies and approaches
that student leaders can implement into their daily lives to keep a successful
balance in both their academic and extracurricular lives. While specifically
geared towards student leaders, all students can benefit from this workshop
and make a difference in finding strategies that help them with their academics,
jobs, family lives, or other personal obligations. Presented by Shaconna Haley
from the Academic Support Center. The Academic Support Center also offers

Completing the AUCC Budget Application: For Student Activities-recognized clubs ONLY. This workshop, led by the AUCC Chair and Vice Chair, will help guide clubs in applying for funding from the Council and provide tips and tricks to write an effective request.
