Housing and Dining Programs opens its residence halls to AU
students every summer to provide a convenient and cost-effective summer housing
option. You can enjoy all of the benefits of residence hall life at a cost
that is competitive with most off-campus accommodations, particularly when
you factor in expenses such as travel, cable, phone service and internet access.
Another advantage of summer housing on campus is the convenient spring-to-summer
and summer-to-fall move-over.
Summer housing fills up quickly. If you are interested in staying in the residence halls for the Summer of 2009, you must apply online by March 15th, 2009
Dates of Availability
Summer student housing for 2009 is available from Sunday, May 10, at 3:00 p.m. to Saturday, August 8, at 12:00 p.m. Check-in at the residence hall front desk on your check-in date. Students may not check-in until after 3:00pm on the date of their arrival to campus.
IMPORTANT - Please note: Spring Commencement exercises are scheduled for Sunday, May 10, and many seniors will not check out until that day. AU summer students assigned to rooms occupied by seniors staying late will need to remain in their current spring semester rooms until their room has been vacated and cleaned. These students will need to apply for late stay with the resident director of their current hall.
*** If you plan to leave campus following your final exams, and then return
for the summer on or after May 10, your summer room on South Campus may not
be ready by the time you plan to leave campus. If this is the case, you MUST
make arrangements to store your belonging while you are away from campus.
You will not be able to leave your belongings in your spring assignment room.
Only students who remain on campus and have approval for late stays can remain
in their spring assignment rooms past the final check-out date on May 9, and
then move to the Anderson room assignment once their summer rooms are vacated
and cleaned. We regret that storage space is not available on campus. Short-term
storage facilities are available in the area, or we suggest you locate a friend
who can store your belongings until you return to campus.
