Rates
On-Campus: $255 per person/per week for double occupancy and $320 per person/per week for single occupancy. (Remember, singles are limited and all single requests that we cannot honor automatically default to your second choice of accommodations.)
Weeks stayed are calculated in seven-night increments. Four, five, six or
seven nights stayed count as one full week. One two or three nights in residence
do not count as a full week. For example; if your stay is five weeks and four
nights, you will be billed for six weeks; if your stay is five weeks and three
nights, you will be billed for five weeks.
Payment Information
DEPOSIT:
A non-refundable $200 deposit is required to reserve a space in a residence hall. The $200 deposit will be applied to your total housing balance due and must accompany your housing application.
ALL TRANSACTIONS BY STUDENT ACCOUNT:For AU Students and Washington Semester Students, all summer housing fees will be charged to your student account after May 15th (deposit will be billed immediately after we receive your application and license agreement). No cash, check or credit card transactions will be accepted for AU summer students or Washington Semester Students.
CANCELLATIONS:
All housing cancellations must be made in writing or by e-mail to Housing and Dining Programs. Phone cancellations will not be honored. Reminder: If you cancel you forfeit your $200 deposit and any unused housing.
EXTENSIONS, EARLY CHECK-OUTS, and NO-SHOWS:
All extensions must be requested in writing through Housing and Dining Programs (you can e-mail us at summerhousing@american.edu). Extensions will be granted on a space available basis, and you may be required to move to a different room and/or hall to accommodate the extension. Please note that no extensions will be granted past August 8th at 12:00 Noon. Additional fees due must be paid immediately upon notification from Housing and Dining Programs. Interns checking out before their scheduled departure date forfeit all unused housing fees. If you fail to check-in on the date submitted on your application, we will attempt to contact you to confirm your arrival. However, room reservations will be cancelled 48-hours after your check-in date.
