when you arrive at Check-in.
This schedule is intended to provide you with an idea of what your day will
look like as well as how to plan your travel arrangements to and from Orientation.

Check in with orientation staff and receive your name badge, program schedule,
and reusable water bottle for use throughout the next two days.

Join the Associate Dean of Students for a session on your student’s
transition to college. This session brings a unique perspective to what it’s
like to be a new student at American University.

Housing
and Dining Programs

Join the Executive Director of Housing and Dining Programs as he brings you
important information about student life in the residence halls, dining options,
and laundry. Yes, laundry.

Health Center

Join the Director of the Student Health Center to learn about the Student
Health Insurance Plan, the Tuition Refund Plan, and compliance with the District

You will hear from Public Safety officers about services and resources available
to help keep your student safe.

environment.

Break
Take a break with Honest Tea and Cliff Bars on the Quad! This is a great chance
to meet up with your student.

Navigating
AU

Staff members from Financial Aid, Student Accounts, the Office of the Registrar,
and AU advisors will provide you with information to help you work effectively
with university administrators.

Join us after dinner to hear from one of American University’s fine
faculty members. Faculty bios will be located at the TDR Information table
during each meal. Refreshments will be served.
