National Women's Political Caucus

Interns Wanted

The National Women's Political Caucus seeks dedicated, intelligent, and politically-charged interns for their national office in Washington, D.C. A bi-partisan grassroots organization working to get more women involved in the political process, NWPC trains political candidates and campaign workers, conducts a federal appointments project, as well as generates research and publishs a variety of material on women and politics. Internships at the NWPC's national office offer the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and to be involved in the planning and execution of Caucus activities. We offer internships in all areas of Caucus operation (including Political Office, Development/Fundraising Office, Special Events, Press Office, Membership and Field Office, and Office of the President).
Because the staff is small and the responsibilities are many, our interns are encouraged to take on substantive projects requiring focus and energy. Each staff member's responsibilities include a certain amount of administrative work, but we strive to keep administrative duties of our interns to a minimum and to make the internship experience rewarding and educational.
Most of our interns are undergraduates in college. They come from a variety of fields of study, backgrounds, and experience. The common characteristic is excitement about the role of women in politics. We prefer that our interns work 4 to 5 days a week. Interning full time allows an opportunity to take responsibility for a project which will last an entire semester. Accommodations will be made for internships during the school year, including scheduling around classes.
An internship with the NWPC is an exciting way to get involved in politics and advancing women's equality. Beyond the obvious rewards of working for one the leading women's organizations, interns work in a relaxed and friendly, yet professional atmosphere and are encouraged to attend lectures and seminars outside of the office to enhance their experience.
To apply for an internship, please send a current resume, a letter of intent, and a topical writing sample to:
