This online learning course, taught entirely online, is a study of significant Supreme Court cases that involve capital crimes and the death penalty, with particular focus on the Court's perspective on international law as it relates to the death penalty. In addition to online class presentations and class discussion, there will be opportunities for online interaction with attorneys, judges, and representatives from organizations that oppose or support capital punishment. Virtually all learning materials including: assignments, lectures, PowerPoints, texts, videos, class discussion, and other opportunities for class engagement, will be available online. Students are required to have internet access and familiarity with online applications.
