This course merges conversations about civil society and non-governmental organizations with "globalization" and "international development". After defining "global civil society", students will discuss and compare NGO relationships with governments and corporate actors. Students will explore two competing visions of our future global world as envisioned by the World Social Forum and the World Global Forum.
