Baseball - American University's Club Baseball team will be participating in its first full season in the spring of 2010. The all men's team competes in the National Club Baseball Association's District III North with other university clubs from the area. Whether you were captain of your high school team or just a little leaguer who still wants to play, you are welcome to join the team. Practices and exhibition games start in the fall and the season begins in March.

Crew - American University Rowing is a highly competitive organization that races at the varsity level, despite only being a club sport. Rowing is a demanding sport that requires a great deal of dedication. There is a men's and women's program, both coached by qualified individuals. AU Crew participates in a number of regattas throughout the school year traveling often to VA and PA. We also compete in some of the largest collegiate races in the United States , such as the Head of the Charles in the fall and the Dad Vail Regatta in the spring. Rowing is a great sport to pick up in college and a skill that will last a lifetime. |

Cricket - This baseball-like sport is fairly easy to learn, fast-paced, and fun. Cricket is a huge international sport and has significant prevalence in Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand, Southern Africa, the Indian subcontinent, and the Caribbean. At AU, we play using hard tennis balls and play through the fall and spring semesters. Our practice consists of non-scored sessions as well as friendly matches. AU Cricket Club welcomes everybody who is willing to play. Whether you are somebody who has not played in a while and need to relearn the game, or somebody looking to learn from scratch, come check us out. We plan to compete with various other schools and clubs in the region throughout the year. Our practices are mostly held on weekends. Cycling - The American University Cycling Team is a student run organization focused on competitive road cycling. The team is open to riders of all abilities; members range from complete beginners to top-level national competitors. AU Cycling competes in the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Cycling Conference, which includes all colleges in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. ACCCC races offer ability based categories, so all participants can race at a level they feel comfortable with. The AU team prides itself on developing new riders and teaching how to maximize each member's potential. Competitively, AU Cycling is a force to be reckon with. In it's entire history the team has never been worse than 2nd in the Atlantic Coast standings. AU Cycling has consistently qualified for the Collegiate Cycling National Championships, and has always been among the top 10 teams in the country. |

Equestrian - The American University Equestrian Team was founded in the fall of 2003. It is a club sport encouraging riders of all levels and disciplines to join. The team competes in Zone 4, Region 1 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. Riders train under the
direction of Jeff Becker at WindCrest Farms in Clarksburg, Maryland. Team members ride on average two times per week and show in
approximately 6 to 8 horse shows per semester. All of the competitions
are hunt seat (English). Despite the young age of the team, members
have already qualified and competed in regional, zone, and national
competitions. The Equestrian team welcomes new members every semester. |

| Field Hockey - The American University Club Field Hockey Team is an organization founded and run by students in the fall of 2007. The team practices three times a week and compete against other college club teams in the National Field Hockey League. The team plays in games and tournaments during the fall and spring season. All field hockey players are welcome--male, female, graduate, undergraduate, beginners and experts. |

Gymnastics - The gymnastics team is an upcoming star in club sports. It is composed of dedicated men and women who completed their first competitive season in Spring 2005. The team has become well recognized in the NAIGC league and travels around the country to competitions. Gymnasts of all backgrounds and abilities make this club a mix of competitive spirit with a relaxed atmosphere. |

Men's Ice Hockey - The Men's Ice Hockey team was founded in 2006 and has started out strong. It is open to all, full time students with all levels of skill and a passion for ice hockey. It is a team dedicated to playing competitive hockey and building a strong relationship with AU and surrounding communities. American University plays in the Mason-Dixon league. |

Women's Ice Hockey - American is home to the only women's ice hockey team in the district. Practicing 2-3 times a week the team has continued to reach new heights every year. The team participates in the DVCHC against Delaware, UVA, Penn, Drexel, and local rival Maryland amongst others, winning the championship 3 seasons ago. Nationally the team competes in the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association). Every year the team takes on players with experience ranging from never seeing ice outside a freezer to girls who have been playing for over a decade. All levels of experience are welcome! Between games on NHL ice, a league-wide all-star game, and playoffs, this is a rare opportunity for girls who have always wanted to step on the ice to further their love of the game.

Men's Lacrosse - Men's Lacrosse is a new team. With talented players from around the country, AU intends to be very competitive. Starting in the spring of 2009 AU's men's lacrosse team will join the NCLL's division 2 of the Capital League. While the teams in our division are mainly inside the DC area, the men's lacrosse team plans to play many schools throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Any guy looking to continue playing lacrosse or interested in learning the game is welcome to come out and play.

Men's Rugby - The American University Rugby Football Club (AURFC) is the oldest continuously-active club sport at American University. As a group we are dedicated wholeheartedly to the sport of rugby. A member of USA Rugby, the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union and the Potomac Rugby Union, AURFC strives both to introduce new players to the sport and to hone the skills of seasoned ruggers. Competing in Division II collegiate rugby, AURFC has two active Union 15 sides during both semesters and offers informal summer 7s as well. AURFC is as international as the sport of rugby itself and prides itself on lasting alumni connections. Sailing - The Sailing Club at AU runs our Intercollegiate Sailing Team. As members of the Mid-Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association we participate in regional events to qualify to national regattas. We gather for our love of sailing, competition and fun. We have events for people on all levels of skill. We train with some of the best teams in the District, so everyone can get better. Come check us out.

Men's Soccer - The American University Men's Club Soccer Team will play its inaugural season in 2008. As the newest club team on campus, we are extremely motivated to excel, both on the pitch and off. We will be participating in nearby tournaments, as well as hosting our own tournaments throughout the year. We welcome any player, regardless of experience, to practice or play with the team. Women's Softball - The American University Club Softball team is a competitive, year round, fast pitch team. We are a close group of girls all who love the sport, love to compete and love to have fun! We practice at least twice a week-Wednesday and Friday evenings, with additional days depending on the time of year. Our seasons follow the semesters, with fall and spring seasons. We play anywhere from 3-6 double headers and round-robins a season, all of which occur on either Saturdays or Sundays. Our opponents vary from year to year, but have in the past included Mid-Atlantic teams such as Maryland, GW, Loyola md, MVI, Penn State and TCNJ. |

Taekwondo - Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and the national sport of South Korea. It is the world's most popular martial art in terms of the number of practitioners. Gyeorugi, a type of sparring, has been an Olympic event since 2000. AU Taekwondo mainly focuses on this type of competition sparring, while incorporating the aspects of traditional Taekwondo. Our instructor, Master Hosan Kim, has over 15 years of experience and has taught in the Korean military. We anticipating holding sparring matches among schools which include George Washington, Georgetown, and the Naval Academy this academic year.

Tennis - American University Club Tennis is a student run organization founded this semester. Though a new club team at American University, the team has a competitive men's and women's component. The team holds 2-3 coed practices each week and competes in matches against other local universities during the weekends. The matches are usually comprised of 7-8 singles matches and 3-4 doubles matches for the men's and women's components respectively. Club tennis also organizes a few team dinners and fun activities for its members each semester. The tennis team plays in the fall and the spring. Currently, the team does not have access to indoor courts or floodlights so the team does not play during the winter season. The tennis team is looking to expand its reach on campus and welcomes new members each semester to come try out. |

Men's Ultimate Frisbee -The American University Men's Ultimate team, nicknamed Stall 11, is a competitive and fun loving group of guys who work hard to become the best Ultimate team possible. We are coming off of our strongest season yet, finishing 12th overall in our region that encompasses all of DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. Ultimate, particularly at the college level, is one of the fastest growing sports in America. Fast-paced, simple to learn, tough to master, and with a strong and supportive community, Ultimate draws in all sorts of people from different walks of life, and especially those with a previous sports background. While it is physically demanding, we encourage anyone interested to come out and give the game a try. The time commitment isn't massive, but we are dedicated to what we do and take our practices seriously. We compete against multiple intercollegiate teams all over the region including a tournament in Georgia for Spring Break. |

Women's Ultimate Frisbee - The "Dirty Ladies" are proud to be part of the Club Sports teams of AU. We accept players of all ability levels. We have become a team-to-beat at the intercollegiate tournaments in which we play. The D.L.'s have competed in tournaments in New Jersey, Georgia, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, making great memories and connections with each other and other college ultimate players in the region. At this year's Sectional tournament, the team went from placed 11 to the 7th place. Our freshmen stepped up to the challenge by playing excellently in their first ever game situations. The year highlight is a Spring Break tournament in Savannah, Georgia with other ultimate teams on their breaks, including the AU Men's Ultimate Frisbee Team. The D.L.'s have 3 practices a week (approx. 2 hours each) and usually attend 3 tournaments a semester in neighboring states. Women's Volleyball - The AU Women's Volleyball Club, founded in the fall of 2007, is a student-run organization focused on developing volleyball skills and competing in organized games. Open to undergraduate and graduate students of all skill levels, the club competes year round in tournaments against local collegiate teams like George Washington University, the University of Maryland, Towson University, and James Madison University. This season we are preparing to host our first tournament in Bender Arena and join a national conference.
