Comment
While most years we are able to complete virtually all of
Face to Face I in the first year and begin Face to Face II in
the second year (with lots of review in the process of working
with other text and video material), this is not always the
case. There is a great deal of flexibility, depending on the
makeup of the classes. Levels II-IV are taught in a multi-level
class, with break-away time for the separate levels for work
on specific textbook material, and increasingly whole-group
time as the year progresses, especially for reading a story
from the Reader. The level IV student, the "starshaia,"
led the III's in
viewing episodes of In Search of Orlovsky and in working on
units in Faces and Voices. Students from II-IV performed Krasnaia
Shapochka using puppets and theater from Tula Puppet Theater
for fund raising fair for Albany-Tula Alliance.
