Community of Scholars

Residential Program

The Washington Community of Scholars program at American University offers both residential and non-residential options. For students not from the Washington metropolitan area, we offer a supervised residential program which includes meals, housing, and weekend activities. You'll experience the full flavor of college life in Washington, D.C., living in the dorms, taking advantage of on-campus dining, and enjoying the sights and sounds of Washington in the summer. The residential program complements the academic day, leaving students plenty of time for study, project work, and continuing discussion of the ideas of the day.

All Washington Community of Scholars participants can enjoy the numerous resources of American University, including Bender Library, the Katzen Art Center, and the eight-lane, competition-size swimming pool and facilities in the Reeves Aquatic Center.
