The GIANT Project held its first workshop December 3, 2003 at American University's School of International Service in Washington, DC.

The workshop, entitled "You Say PotatO, I Say PotAto: The Ownership of Food Products & Processes," brought together a panel of experts from government, academia, and the private sector to discuss and debate the use of geographic indications in international trade today, and what these developments mean for countries and industries worldwide.
