Student Achievement Awards

(Ten recipients named)

CRITERIA: Student must have been admitted to a degree program as of September 2008. Requires demonstration of unique contributions as well as service benefiting the University community, whether through student government, public service, organizational leadership, or a combination of several categories. Specific criteria for each of these 10 named awards can be found by clicking on the on-line application below. Each of these award include $250 as part of the recognition.

NOMINATION PROCESS:

Nomination By Others: Nominations are Closed at this Time
Faculty, staff and other students may nominate a student for the 2009 Student Achievement Awards. Nominations should be completed via my.american.edu (see instructions below). Students nominated will automatically receive an email notification that they have been nominated and will be asked to complete an on-line nomination acceptance form. This form also invites students to list faculty/staff who can speak to their contributions to American University.

Self-Nominations: Nominations are Closed at this Time
Self-Nominations should be completed via my.american.edu (see instructions below). The self-nomination form invites students to list faculty/staff who can speak to their contributions to American University.

Letters of Recommendation: Recommendations are closed at this time
Nominations (made by others or self-nominations) should include letters of recommendation from faculty/staff members that speak to the contributons the nominee has made to the American University. See above for instructions on submitting a letter of recommendation for a nominee.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR NOMINATING A STUDENT FOR A
2009 STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:
To nominate a student, you MUST go through the AU portal (my.american.edu). Once you log into the portal, click on Activities and Events on the right hand side menu. Once clicked, your personalized links should show a link to NOMINATE A STUDENT for the 2009 Student Achievement Awards. Click on it to begin to fill out the nomination form.

Friday, March 20, 2009 - To the Office of the Vice President of Campus Life (400 Butler Pavilion)
