Welcome to the Washington Mentorship Program at
American University (AU). This 15-credit fall semester
program, now in its seventh year, gives students admitted
as spring freshmen an insider’s perspective on Washington, D.C.
It is housed on AU’s Tenley Campus, just three and a half blocks—
an easy walk or a short shuttle bus ride—from the main campus.
Based on the highly successful academic model of AU’s 60-year old
Washington Semester Program, the Washington Mentorship Program is grounded in the best practices of experiential and traditional learning. As a student in the Washington Mentorship Program you earn:
All credits for successfully completed courses are transferred to your degree program in the spring 2010 semester. As a member of the AU community, you have the opportunity to enjoy the full college experience, including participating fully in college classes, living in a residence hall room on the Tenley campus, eating in a dining hall, getting involved in events and activities on both the Tenley and main campuses, and having full access to all university services, facilities, and resources. Estimated Program Costs Required Full-Time Student Fees No financial aid is available for the Washington Mentorship Program.
